Metallizing, Glazing, Joining of Ceramics
E-mail: pkerengineering@attglobal.net

P-Ker Engineering metallizes ceramics with noble metals, molybdenum and tungsten - based compositions.

Metallizing patterns are applied by hand (brush, dip, spray), screen printing, or semi-automated dispensing process.

After firing the coat in air or under controlled atmosphere conditions, a fused metal layer is typically overplated.

We glaze ceramic parts, when requested, with a variety of glazes including refractory glazes applied to Mo and W - metallized alumina.

Ceramic parts can be joined one to another or to metal using either cements, high temperature fusing with the aid of oxide eutectics, or through the metallize-braze procedure.

Metal-Ceramic Assemblies

Examples:

-- High vacuum metal-ceramic seals
-- Hermetic bushing insulators
-- Pressure-tight feed-through insulators
-- Insulator-electrode ignitor assemblies
-- Spot welding fixtures
-- Hot gas nozzles
-- Specialty lighting fixtures

Each application is more or less of custom design.
